1986 floral chiffon studded skirt

Bloom inspired treasures have been cropping up across the sphere in New York, Paris, Milan and Tokyo. You have Ralph Lauren's romantic pastels, Dior's fine jewelry, Dolce and Gabbana's floral explosion, Roberto Cavalli's minimilast brocades, unbelievably crafted flower crested shoes by Victor and Rolf, bags by Rebecca Taylor...and the list is vast and endless. Heck, even high street stores like H & M are doing gorgeous floral dresses and headbands termed their "Garden Collection". Then, to add to the mix, you have floral ...wait for it... Dr. Martens. Yep, those chunky boots covered in delicate lilies.

Clearly, the global mood is one of embracing nature's divine offerings and interpreting them into clothing. Light and feminine, a perfect welcome to the warmer months. Think the moment in Alice in Wonderland when the flowers come to life. A moment so pure, cinematically and ethereally, it's one of the most whimsical moments I've witnessed. We have dimension adding accents and raised rosettes in Marios Schwab SS10 and at none other than Valentino so obviously, 1986 decided to do our own version.

Because I'd probably personally never wear something basically all floral, Srishti mixed it up with a denim studded belt right on top to add some masculinity to the otherwise overbearingly girly piece. We suggest mixing it up with a basic white/black/navy tank for the day alongwith some cute piled necklaces and with something a little more flashy for the night, as displayed above. Add a cute bag and some killer heels and you're all set to go.

Hoping to see you at our exhibition!

Take a Bow

You've seen it on Blair, you've seen it on Cheryl, you've seen it on Emma Bunton and you've also seen it on Glee. The only thing that's stopping you from buying one of your own is the fact that you just can't seem to find it anywhere. We realized this and what did we do? We solved your problem.

'LO BEHOLD! The Bow Skirt from 1986!

PS: You should know that a skirt like this can be paired with more than just frills...

Who are we?

So you've stumbled across this blog and you think it looks interesting. You're wondering why you should care who we are and why you should bookmark STAT.

If you're living in India, you would've noticed the blatant lack of chic, affordable clothing. Sure, you stock up as best you can while spending those godsent days traipsing around London, New York, et all but shopping is just not fun around here. What do you do when in need of some serious retail therapy? Grabbing a private jet to Spain a la Serena Van Der Woodsen is hardly a choice for most of us and so we're stuck shopping online as usual, gazing longingly at Topshop and Forever 21 webbies and cursing them for not shipping to India.

Of course, you have your usual FCUK and Forever New here and there at select malls but clearly, we are seemingly devoid of high street stores of Indian origin. In fact, if you chance upon a "trendy" Indian store, it will be the same old, predictable lot of logo tees, flip flops and other questionable items. Can we say lame?

While the Indian high fashion designer market steadily expands, we're seriously lacking in the high street department. The average Indian girl's idea of shopping is buying something only to satiate her need for spending money on something or pulling out a shiny credit card. << I swear, I'm not saying that because I'm some retarded shopaholic, it's a true story.

1986's creators noticed this gaping hold (ahem handicap) and decided that someone needed to do SOMETHING before we become a nation of Crocs-wearing, sweats-donning freaks. *shudder*
So we're going to be bringing you a buttload of gorgeous stuff that will leave you salivating, picking your jaw off the floor to where it will undoubtedly have dropped once you've seen what we have in store for you and well, well-dressed. A little simplistic? Maybe. Totally freakin fabulous? Definitely.

More coming soon! Watch this space ;)
